The Glenrothes
Select Reserve db (87) n20 just when you
wonder if a touch of sulphur has crept in, all is lost under an
avalanche of ripe oranges. Jury's out; t24 one of the
softes deliveries in Speyside, the silky barley and citrus
caress the tastbuds with rare tenderness; a drop of honey
assists; f21 again there is a strange note to the coffee
and cocoa finale; b22 definitely flawed greatness. 43% |

Glenrothes, Select Reserve
(Scotland) No age statement. Ripe fruits, spice and toffee on
the nose, with a whiff of Golden Syrup. Faint wood polish in the
mouth, vanilla, spicy and slightly citric. Creamy and complex.
Slightly nutty, with some orange, in the drying finish. 43.0%
ABV, 70cl, �28.95, specialist whisky merchants. |

Einer unser absoluten Favoriten und
aufgrund der konstanten Nachfrage unserer Kunden, hat es der
GLENROTHES SELECT RESERVE wieder den Sprung ins Sortiment
geschafft! Mit seiner intensiven, goldenen Farbe regt er die
Sinne an. In der Nase macht sich das Bukett von Vanille und
Kokos (Bourbonfaß?!) breit. Im Hintergrund der Duft von reifen
Pflaumen. Im Mund geschieht dann das, wofür ihn viele Genießer
lieben: Volles, kompaktes und dennoch weiches Mundgefühl. Vorne
herum eine feine Süße, Vanille und sein charakteristischer Duft
nach Orangenzesten. Mittlerer Ausklang, danach ein eleganter
Nachhall. Einfach nur sympathisch!!!! |

pale sultanas and sharp woodland berries.
Palate
Slightly spirity, spicy and with mixed peel character.
Finish
Biscuity.
Comment
Youthful, but without the lip-smacking class of the older
vintages.

Nose
Crisp oak, malt bins/shredded wheat, estery. Hot bracken,
patisserie (almond, vanilla) kumquat, praline. Seems young.
Palate
Spicy and fresh. Decent depth in the centre. Good flow. Light
milk chocolate, clootie dumpling mix, citrus peels, hazelnut
shell.
Finish
Dry cereal, nutty, young.
Comment
It's a perfectly decent dram but not a patch on the great vintage bottlings. |
